What fence problems do you repair?

  • Posts rotted or snapped at ground level.
  • Sections leaning after Santa Ana winds or a storm.
  • Loose, cracked or missing boards and pickets.
  • Gates that sag, drag or will not latch.
  • Bent chain link posts and torn mesh.
  • Cracked vinyl panels and loose vinyl rails.
  • Rusted or broken welds on metal fences and gates.

Should I repair or replace my fence?

Repair usually makes sense when the damage is limited to a few posts or sections and the rest of the fence is sound. Replacement makes more sense when many posts are rotted, the boards are gray and brittle along the whole run, or you are already paying for repeat repairs.

A simple test for wood: push a screwdriver into the post at ground level. If it sinks in easily on many posts, the fence is near the end of its life. See how long a wood fence lasts.

How much does fence repair cost?

It depends on what failed. Replacing a single post or re-hanging a gate is a small job; rebuilding a long leaning run is closer to new-fence pricing. We look at the fence, explain the options and give you a written price before any work starts.

Who is responsible for a shared fence?

In California, neighbors are generally presumed to share responsibility for a boundary fence, and the law asks for written notice before shared costs. If your repair involves a shared fence, talk to your neighbor early. We can quote the work so you both see the same numbers.

Repair now or wait?

Repair now if a post is broken, a section is leaning toward a walkway, or a pool or pet gate will not latch. Those are safety issues. You can plan ahead and combine work if the problem is cosmetic, such as faded boards or a gate that sticks a little.
