What fences do Los Angeles homes need?
The City of Los Angeles covers flat Valley tracts, hillside streets, older central neighborhoods and coastal areas, so there is no single "LA fence." A few patterns come up again and again:
- Back-yard privacy on tight lots, usually 6-foot wood or vinyl.
- Low front-yard fences, because most residential zones cap front-yard fences at 3 feet 6 inches.
- Sloped yards in hillside neighborhoods, where fences need stepped panels and deeper posts.
- Driveway gates on homes with street parking pressure and narrow driveways.
