What types of gates do you install?
- Walk gates for side yards and back yards, matched to your fence.
- Double swing drive gates for driveways with room to swing open.
- Sliding gates for short or sloped driveways where a swing gate will not fit.
- Automatic openers with safety sensors, keypads and remotes.
- Pool gates that self-close and self-latch. See pool fences.
Why do gates sag, and how do you prevent it?
Most gates sag because the post moves or the frame racks under its own weight. We set gate posts deeper and heavier than line posts, use a rigid frame with diagonal bracing or a steel frame, and pick hinges rated for the gate's weight and width.
How much does a gate cost in Los Angeles?
As of October 2026, published ranges put a basic walk gate at a few hundred dollars up to about $2,000 installed, depending on material and hardware. Driveway and security gates run roughly $2,000 to $12,000, and automatic openers add to that. Your quote depends on width, material, slope and power access.
Can you add a gate to my existing fence?
Usually, yes. We cut in a new opening, add proper gate posts and build a gate to match. If the existing posts are weak or rotted, we will tell you before we start.
Swing or slide?
Choose a swing gate if your driveway is level and you have clear space for the gate to open. Choose a sliding gate if your driveway slopes up, is short, or opens right onto the sidewalk. Choose an automatic opener if you open the gate several times a day or want a car to pull in without stopping.
